Venom is a thriller/sci-fi movie and was released in theaters on October 5th, 2018 and is directed by Ruben Fleischer, who also directed “Zombieland”. The film is about a journalist Eddie Brock who is trying to take down Carlton Drake the founder of “The Life Foundation”. Eddie tries to publicly humiliate and expose Mr.Drake by using his show names the “The Eddie Brock Report”. He then loses his job, home, and girlfriend after trying to pull that stunt. In an effort to recover his life back, he makes his own investigation to prove Carlton isn’t who he is portraying himself to be. Eddie sneaks into “The Life Foundations” lab where he witnesses Mr. Drake’s horrific plan with an alien that will merge with humans. When Eddie tries to escape he accidentally merges with an alien named Venom. Throughout, the movie they both develop a bond and eventually plan to save earth from Carlton’s plan.

Venom originally received many backlash when Sony Picture Entertainment released their first trailer. Many people have compared the movie to some failures such as Catwoman, Daredevil, Green Lantern, and Fantastic 4. When people think of Venom their first initial thoughts are when the alien attached itself on Spider Man in the Spider Man 3 movie. Ideally fans would believe the movie would have some sort of the same story line as it was originally shown. The Venom movie proves a different approach providing more emotion and information on venom. The movie provides information on how this alien came to Earth and what it’s actual purpose is. Many questions about Venom is able to be answered in this film.

I personally enjoyed the movie it provides amazing actions scene and many comedic reliefs. Throughout, the movie the viewers are able to sympathize with Venom. Venom is a horrific and unusual Beast who is easily feared at first glance. The movie is able to bring you to the edge of your seat and cheer for Eddie and Venom. I love how the film was able to show the growth between Eddie and Venom relationship towards the end. It’s amazing how the movie can portray Venom as as the hero instead of a villain. I recommend for anyone who is open to a different perspective in Venom.
