Nestled into the back hallways of the second floor, sits room 2211. An ordinary science classroom occupied by an assortment of students, taught by one Ms. Alexandra Riddle.

Ms. Riddle is an Earth Sciences teacher, who has taught at multiple schools in Prince William County, including at her current position at Freedom High School, for the last two years.

Even though she now holds a teaching position, Ms. Riddle originally wished to work for the Environmental Protection Agency. After graduating high school from Hayfield Secondary in Northern Virginia, where she grew up, she attended the University of Virginia at Wise, with the wish ‘to make a positive difference in the world’, graduating with a degree in Environmental Biology. Upon realizing that the job she wished to take up wasn’t to her liking, she decided to become a teacher to accomplish her goal ‘to make a real difference’. She began taking up various long term substitute assignments in Prince William schools, looking for what grade levels she preferred to teach, finding that she possessed a natural talent, as well as a fondness, for the profession.

Eventually, she took on a job as a full-fledged Earth Sciences teacher at Freedom High School. Knowing that she wished to teach sciences, she took on the subject of Earth Sciences, seeing it as the best fit to her [college] degree.

When she’s not teaching, Ms. Riddle likes to hike, kayak, and train dogs.
