What is your biggest fear?

I’ll still be working past my retirement age.

What inspired you to be a teacher?

My mom because she was a teacher for 40 years and she’s retired. She taught first and second grade.

Why did you become a high school teacher?

I guess I liked the courses at the high school level better like chemistry and I taught life science and physical science.

How has being a teacher affected you?

In good ways is when the kids come back and say, “Hey, I’m going into teaching!” Because I can tell I’ve influenced them positively. Bad is when I see students do not care about their education that’s the bad side.

What do you do when you’re not working?

I am a gamer, I play video games, I go to the movies and I’m with my family a lot also. My favorite video game is Minecraft.

What is your goal when teaching?

My goal is for all students to be successful, that’s my goal.

How long have you been teaching?

This year makes 17 because I had another career before I went into teaching, I use to be a lab technician so my work was in chemistry.

Did you always like science?

Yes, I always liked science that was my best and favorite subject in school and they put me in honors courses in college so instead of taking Chemistry 2, they put me in Quantitative Analysis.
